Fayette Cares Receives Award

Fayette Cares was honored for outstanding work, receiving the Innovator in Creating and Maintaining a Safety Net award from United Way of the Mid-South. Fayette Cares was selected out of 30 mid-south organizations being recognized in nine categories.

As part of Exploring Innovation in Community Development Week (April 14-18), The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Memphis Branch sponsored a luncheon on April 18, 2008 to recognize agencies awarded a United Way Avron B. Fogelman Venture Fund. The fund is intended to develop and/or implement innovative strategies to address needs of the mid-south community.

The award was given to agencies which take an innovative approach to long-term solutions. United Way commended the honorees for building upon the strengths of program participants and providing opportunities for communities to participate in projects.
