Grape Times Had by All at Forks & Corks

The weather couldn’t have been more pleasant or the vineyard more beautiful for an evening under the stars and among the grapes at the Forks & Corks event benefiting Fayette Cares.

A record crowd of guests dined, sipped, and danced, grateful to gather with friends and neighbors in the open air.  Making the event possible were sponsors FirstBank, de terra Vineyard & Wines of Somerville, The Germantown Commissary, and Windyhill Services, who support the Fayette Cares mission to end homelessness, break the cycle of domestic violence, and create stability from crisis.

Guests sampled a variety of Tennessee wines from de terra Vineyard & Wines of Somerville, danced to live music performed by Shufflegrit, enjoyed a southern inspired menu from The Germantown Commissary and took part in a live auction led by Jeff Morris of Morris Realty and Auction.  There was heated bidding on Fayette Cares events including premium tables for the upcoming A Night of Southern Elegance dinner and auction, as well as 2022 golf tournament teams and Forks & Corks tables. Donors also showed they care through generous donations made that night, to continue the good works of Fayette Cares which have been particularly vital and in high demand due to the health crisis.

As the night ended, Fayette Cares staff were called upon by Police to assist a victim in danger.  The next morning a hotline volunteer, a guest at Forks & Corks the night before, received a domestic violence Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) call.  These were ever-present reminders that crisis doesn’t take a break and that help is only available because of the caring support from Fayette Cares sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
