Guests Unmask the Stigma of Family Crisis at Fayette Cares Masquerade Gala

A display of beautifully elaborate and creative masks filled MCR Safety in Piperton, TN on Saturday, November 2nd.  The building, typically a distribution center for personal protective equipment, was transformed in grand style for the Fayette Cares charity gala, A Night of Southern Elegance – Masquerade.

The Masquerade theme called on guests to unmask the stigma of family crisis by supporting the work of Fayette Cares and helping to end homelessness, break the cycle of domestic violence, and create stability from family crisis.

Flowers and feathers adorned the venue, which was virtually unrecognizable to those who work in or had previously visited the space.  The luxurious scene was made possible by Fayette Cares supporters Mahaffey Tent and Event Rentals, Hometowne Flowers & Gifts in Somerville, and Rae Creative.

Auctioneer Jeff Morris of Morris Realty & Auction had bidders celebrating their winnings of Hilton Head golf packages, a stunning diamond ring from Doron Diamonds, top rated guided pheasant hunts and trout fishing trips, Downtown Memphis rooftop parties, and much more.

One particularly lucky raffle drawing winner walked away with a Rocky Mountain adventure package for only $100.  The charity thanks Trustmark National Bank and ReDesign for sponsoring this exciting raffle drawing opportunity.

Among the rousing auction items were the heartwarming Fund-A-Need gifts supporting lifesaving services for high danger victims.  Shelter Naming rights were won by Sullivan Farms, GP and Matthew and Hanna Grace Miller.  These steadfast supporters have the honor of naming the Fayette Cares emergency shelter buildings with signage sponsored by Boulder Designs.   The Miller family will honor the memory of Alyson Whitaker, mother and devoted Fayette Cares volunteer and supporter.

The evening ended on a high note with live music and dancing to the ever-popular Kevin & Bethany Paige band.

Hundreds of donors, sponsors, and volunteers made valuable contributions throughout the event to assure families in need find hope at Fayette Cares.  Caring sponsors included MCR Safety, Fayette County Public Schools, Ring Container Technologies, AOC Aliancys, G & G Repair, Tom & Neta Fleps, Fayette Janitorial & Fayette Industrial, Invenergy, Yancey Farms, West TN Ready Mix, Allied Termite and Pest Control, Renaissance, CoreCivic Whiteville & Hardeman Facilities, Fayette Janitorial & Fayette Industrial, BancorpSouth Oakland, Somerville, and Kim Morris BancorpSouth Mortgage, Mahaffey Event & Tent Rentals, Sunrise Buick GMC at Wolfchase, Michelob Ultra, Konica Minolta, Hometowne Flowers, Rae Creative, Print Solutions, FirstBank, Kroger, and many others.
