Let’s Get to Work

Job Training for Youth

Staff shortages continue to challenge our shops.  So much so, that the donation center must now close on Saturdays.

But a new job training program may be part of the solution.

Fayette Cares has partnered with the American Job Center to provide job training opportunities for unemployed youth.  The program offers paid on-the-job training and support services including childcare assistance, transportation aid, work clothing/equipment, and more.  Eligible participants must be 18-24 years old, residents of Shelby, Tipton, Lauderdale, or Fayette County, be unemployed, and not currently enrolled in school.

At Fayette Cares, participants will learn retail job skills including customer service, sales and merchandising, cash register operations and more. They’ll also be helping to continue the meaningful mission of Fayette Cares.

So, let’s get to work and help build a strong future for all!
