With a New Location, the Fayette Cares Charity Plant Sale Flourishes

Saturday, April 13 at Oakland Elementary School Gym, across from Kroger, 14925 Highway 194, Oakland, TN from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM

With the move to the gymnasium at Oakland Elementary school, the 27th Annual Fayette Cares Plant Sale has grown providing more products and value to shoppers and attendees. An event for the entire family, there is something for everyone.

Quality plants will be for sale at great prices from the region’s best growers and farms. In addition to returning favorites like Dan West Garden Center, Gardens Oy Vey, Lucerne Farms, and Willow Oaks, new vendors will be participating including Fenster Farms, Midwest Block & Brick and Cooper Young Garden Walk, with a portion of garden walk tickets sales benefitting Fayette Cares. There will also be fresh baked delights & canned goods from Backermann’s Country Market and unique items from Kindred Spirit Style, and information available from the Oakland Farmer’s Market.

A special addition this year includes beautiful potted plants from the students at Oakland Elementary. Students are supporting this great cause by potting plants, with the assistance an Extension Agent from Agricenter International, in pots they decorate. These items will be available for purchase at the sale.

The Home Grown section is big this year thanks to donations from the community! Shop items like magnolia trees, crepe myrtle trees, peonies, hostas, lilies and more with 100% or proceeds benefitting Fayette Cares. There will also be a potting station so please bring your favorite pot or buy one at the sale and take home a beautiful addition to your home, porch or lawn.

If you can’t make it to the sale, you can still Shop to Help Charity Bloom by visiting the online sale at FCPlants19.givesmart.com  where you can find a selection of annuals, perennials, ferns, gardening services and more. Feel good about your purchase knowing all proceeds help provide safety from domestic violence, shelter for the homeless, and stability for families in financial crisis.

Adults can learn gardening tips and best practices with expert led demonstrations happening all day in the STEM classroom. Perfect for beginners and skilled gardeners alike, topics include pruning, gardening and canning, propagating, azaleas, 5 Ways to Beautify Your Neighborhood, and more.

The FREE Kids Zone returns this year with an inflatable bounce house, planting station where kids can take home a potted plant, a coloring contest – open to all ages, even adults, and new this year – an Escape Room!
