Message from the Case Manager

A Message from Case Manager
Melody Blakemore

Eight years ago, when I saw the position for a case manager, I knew I wanted to work with those experiencing homelessness. The opportunity to help change lives stirred my soul.

It’s humbling to remember that it could be any of us in need tomorrow. Treating people with respect and empathy is crucial as we navigate challenges together. Most will tell you that I’ve never met a stranger, so it’s second nature for me to approach everyone I serve like an old friend.

I’ve learned how important it is to eliminate barriers that prevent people from seeking our services. A big part of that is ensuring people feel accepted and understood. I strive to help everyone know that they deserve help without judgment. If I were in their situation, I’d hope for kindness and understanding. After all, kindness is free, and it means everything.

While people may face countless “No’s,” I aim to be their “Yes.”

There are so many people who need hope. That’s why your support for Fayette Cares is crucial. We couldn’t do this work without our donors, churches, volunteers, sponsors, partner agencies, and the incredible team here. Thank you all for making a difference!
