A Message from Board Member Katherine Schrader

The past two years have been a time for reflection and reinvention in so many respects.

We all have walked through our first pandemic together trying to keep our lives intact and functioning.

I’m reminded of the classic book Who Moved My Cheese and its profound truths about adapting as the world around you changes.  Navigating uncharted territory, our agency reimagined and embraced different ways to connect and serve.  Whether telehealth therapy, food deliveries or food drive-thru, online court support for victims and law enforcement training, or virtual fundraisers, Fayette Cares met the challenges of our new normal and adapted.

But amidst all the changes, the mission remains the same.  In fact, it’s even more critical as families seek a safe haven to receive housing, food, education, comfort and most importantly love and encouragement.

Our team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to deliver great quality care to clients and community, addressing every assistance a family may need. It’s a privilege to be among so many supporters and visionaries who have the same goals and desires; to strengthen and grow the work of Fayette Cares, no matter the challenges.

I look forward to many years participating as a Fayette Cares Board member. Collectively we can all make a difference to fight homelessness, hunger, and abuse in our community.
