Though we were prepared with a donated 20’ x 30’ tent, repeated downpours and warnings of hazardous weather forced us to cancel Forks & Corks at the beautiful de Terra venue.
And then…the sun came out.
So instead of defeat, our team pivoted with heart and hustle. Staff and volunteers transformed the emergency food pantry into a food box prep zone, assembling nearly 100 generous meals featuring Germantown Commissary BBQ.
When we ran out of to-go containers, Rachel Bing of Main Street Eatery rushed to help—bringing just what we needed, right on time.
Each drive-up guest received a delicious meal and a special summer gift: a $25 Thermacell mosquito-repellent lantern, donated by Amazon.
We’re deeply grateful for the grace of our guests, the spirit of our volunteers, and the unwavering support of the community.
What started as a weather challenge became a moving reminder of resilience and the power of caring.
