From Tee to Shinning Tee

The Fayette Cares Golf Tournament sponsored by Ring Container Technologies was a swinging success. In its 18th year, the event sold out well in advance: a testament to the community’s enthusiasm for not only golf, but the act of giving back.

This year set a new record for registration and sponsorships making it the most successful tournament to date! This day on the fairways featured colorful banners, beautiful weather, high spirits and, of course, great golf. Golfers enjoyed gifts and prizes, including rounds of golf, golf bags, and golf gear.

Thanks to the generosity of Hilltop Wine & Spirits, Top Shelf Liquors, Highway 64 Wine and Spirits, Ridgeway Country Club, and many caring private donors the newest game at the event, Bourbon Trail Challenge, was a hit. Golfers putted the ball with precision toward a bourbon bottle, varying in value from $30 to over $300. If they hit a bottle with their putt, they won that bottle! A special recognition to those who helped to present this new game and a special tribute to Scott McDaniel.

Closest to the Pin competitions sponsored by Michelob Ultra, Knights of Columbus, Re/Max Experts Ginny Tibbles and Lola Putt, and Solace Services hailed the following winners: Bear Gibbs, Steve Weldon, Vince Vaghela, Jeremy Geiman, and Bob Wagenhals.

Events sponsored by Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial celebrated the following winners: Longest Putt – Taylor Pfohl, Longest Drive (54 & Under) – Angie Graves, Longest Drive (55-69) – Gary Hampson, Longest Drive (70-79) – Jason Wilson, and Longest Drive (80+) – Mel Bearden

Sweeping the tournament in first place was the John Iosue Party (-15), with David Pike Party in second place (-14) and Water Well Solutions in third place (-13).

Golfers, tournament sponsors, donors, and volunteers showed support to sustain the meaningful work of Fayette Cares.
